Sea World Rides and Attractions. San Antonio Sea World is more than just a marine adventure. The park offers plenty of thrills for the whole family with exciting roller coasters and fun rides and attractions. The newly opened Journey to Atlantis ride is part roller coaster, part water ride offering panoramic views of San Antonio and a fast-paced plunge through a wall of water. The Great White, Texas' first inverted steel roller coaster, takes you on a bone-chilling ride through more than 2,500 feet of loops and corkscrews at speeds of almost 50 mph. The Rio Loco is an exhilarating river rapids adventure aboard a circular raft that churns through a 1,800-foot raging stream with dips, bends, and a drenching waterfall. The little ones will enjoy a ride on the Shamu Express, a family roller coaster with killer whale-themed cars that zip along 220 feet of track at a fun, but safe, 14 mph. If thrill rides aren’t your thing, visit Dolphin Cove, where you touch and experience bottlenose dolphins up close. The 450,000-gallon shark habitat brings you face to face with a variety of mysterious sharks and the 300,000-gallon coral reef offers a view of thousands of fish native to the Indian and Pacific oceans.
